Dear Sir, Madam,
I am a freelance journalist based in Amsterdam, and am interested in finding out more about your opinions about on commercial cloning issues. I read on your website that you have been involved in discussing this issue with European officials. I am wondering if you also participate in the European Food Safety Authority ’s seeking scientific contributions from Third Parties on this issue?

I am contacting you to find out if you’ve noticed that consumers are concerned about this issue at all? What are the chances to have the EFSA advice it’s best to label the foods and why does it seem that the Europeans will follow the US, where despite over 60% of the population’s objection to cloned meat, the FDA seems set to allow for it to enter stores non-labeled?

I am writing an article on the subject, in which I compare the situation in the US with the one here in Europe.

Reading your website, I get the impression that you endorse cloning for commercial purposes. Is this correct? What is your advice regarding labeling? What level of awareness should there be on this issue, according to you?

I would very much appreciate your reply. I have written one article on the subject (http://www.globalpolitician.com/articleshow.asp?ID=3249&cid=1&sid=24) and my next article focuses on consumer awareness differences in the US and Europe.

Kind regards,
Angelique van Engelen
