Dear SIR
I am out to search desperately for crowds on the issue of European Health Officials at
EFSA pondering allowing the meat of cloned cows to enter the food chain. Any tips on how best to work your site welcome!

Angelique
Hi Angelique,
Regarding working with our site - we would be very happy to help in
any way we can - we are new and are looking to cooperate with as many
people as possible.
If you look at our home page, you can see we are now running certain
“features” which we think may be of interest to the general public -
perhaps we could run a feature on “cloning”? We would also be happy to
allow you to propose the “feature” and suggest the people who should
be “asked” - we (or you) could then contact the people involved and
see if they would be willing to answer our users questions.
What do you think? This is one possibility - if you have any other
ideas, please let us know,
Best Wishes,
Keith
Dear Keith,
That sounds great. I am going to check out your site today. I am
involved with a similar thing which is launching around 1 September.
It is called reporTwitters.com and we have a blog up and running since
yesterday.
We don’t play a numbers game but work on a similar logic to crowd
sourcing in that we exploit virality and transparency of
events/issues. For an idea of how this is set to work, check our blog
www.blog.reportwitters.com.
I am compiling a guide for reporters and editors on using tools in
which you guys feature, as well as around a dozen others, to whom
questionnaires are being sent out tomorrow.
In this regard, the Cloning story is a reporTwitter test (even though
the topic in itself warrants in my view equal publicity as the
Olympics). Through it, we hope to find out all the ins and outs of
crowd sourcing on the various tools around.
I would love the cloning issue to be up for a feature suggestion. The
story will be on the reporTwitter site too, and you’ll get your fair
share of attention from people you target, through our transparency
mechanism.
Regards,
Angelique
Hi Angelique,
[..]
Secondly, i read your blog and sounds like a great idea (tho must confess, didnt understand quite how it would all work - tho no doubt will become clear when you launch on 1st sept).
We would be very happy to work with you on a feature about “cloning” - how do you forsee this working? Would you like to choose the people to be “asked” and contact them to get their agreement to answer?
Should we aim to post on our site also for the 1st september?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts - Good Luck with reporTwitters,
keith
HI
That sounds very interesting!

I am looking for anyone on your site that has outspoken views on organic farming and cloning issues. I was under the impression that you were very UK oriented with a few EU people? If you happen to know any of these people, I would love to put a question to them.
David Miliband
Keith Campbell (one of the scientists involved in cloning Dollie, Univ. Of Nottingham) The UK top
representative to the EU.
Markos Ciprianou - EU commissioner of health.
I am uploading a first version of the story on the twitter blog. Regards, Angelique
