Professionals Use Twitter For Work More and More

Professional us of Twitter is on the rise. The Press Association in the UK covered the Budget on it recently and the UK’s journalism.co.uk has started listing its jobs one by one on the site in a trial that started last April. We checked this morning and it’s still very much live, so the move is likely a success, even though the writer Oliver Luft himself likely doesn’t think much of Twitter; testimony his own Twitter stream.

Check them out on http://twitter.com/journalismjobs and add them to your friends if you consider moving jobs. Journalism.co.uk says it is sending web based Twitter messages only during normal UK working hours, but a text alert and/or IM message will be sent each time a job is added.

If you are interested in finding out how various other professionals use Twitter in their work, read this article on websitemagazine.com, which lists responses of 11 pros to a 7 question survey. Most interesting finding by far is someone’s explanation of the interaction between Twitter and del.icio.us. Most people miss out on it, but you can bookmark a Twitter message on del.icio.us, tag it and get involved with a whole new set of people.
