Some of us are good, some of us are great. And then there are some of us who are just plain downright cool. Marilyn Rodrigo, a high profile member of Twittmad (the first twitter meetup in Spain) added a lot of cool points to her personal profile Saturday night, going on a dinner date with Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s founder.
Marilyn, a self professed HEAVY Twitter user, discussed the ins and outs of the service for over six hours with Jack, two journalists and a Madrid located Twitter user. And of course she wrote a gloating blog post about the evening.
“Jack is an extremely nice guy. He’s 30 but at first glance he looks like 25. When he speaks, he does it calmly, and you can see that his mind is packed of clear ideas. Then you understand why Twitter is such a success”, Marilyn reports.
The big question of how Twitter is going to be financed in future (ie who will snap them up) also came up. Marilyn’s impression was that Dorsey would rather take his time to choose the best option. “Remember: one of the most difficult things is to say no”, she quoted him as saying.
So how did the date end? It was Jack’s first time in Madrid, so Marilyn took him on a tour. They took a speeding cab and saw a sleeping Madrid with no lights; the Cibeles goddess. Then onto the Gran Via and the Puerta de Alcalá. They also passed by “El Oso y el Madroño”, and Jack recognized the twittmad logo. Apparently he ‘smiled’. Woa.
