Seesmic is a new company in beta testing that ruins all pyjama dreams. It engages you with the outside world so much, you simply are forced to smear that lick of paint on your face and look bright and happy when you work from home. Seismic is a video tool that makes your communications effective in ways that regular IM, SMS and email simply can’t. What’s more, you can upload your personal videos directly on Twitter.

The site was set up by Loic Le Meur, a French entrepreneur and internet advisor to President Sarkozy. Seesmic is in beta and you will get an invite to join as soon as Loic Le Meur sees fit.

The potential for this tool is great, as is evidenced by the video communications posted by a US soldier in Iraq. The soldier now simply only needs a platform to publicize his talk on. A newspaper or moderated medium would be the most obvious source. Normally you’d only see this kind of footage via a TV station (ie a mediated medium).

Loic Le Meur´s business is growing rapidly but he´s not got a group of media experts/journalists on his roster of collaborations. Or anyone that would get this guy exposure in the press. I have signed up already and am sending Loic Le Meur an email too to tell him about the existence of reporTwitters.

Josh meanwhile has received replies from a US army support group (@mailourmilitary) interested in the video. They found him via Twitter and are interacting with him on Seesmic.
